Camp is a special four-day overnight camping adventure for kids with asthma held at the Jumonville Camp and Conference Center, Hopwood, PA (near Uniontown), generally the third weekend in August.
- For children between the ages of 8 and 13.
- Tuition is $125.00
- Scholarships are available for first-time campers.
- A $25.00 registration fee is required and applies towards the tuition.
A dedicated group of volunteer physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists work alongside camp counselors to ensure that all campers have a safe and fun experience. The camp philosophy is that asthma should not hamper childrens' lives and prevent them from accomplishing anything. By learning the skills to properly manage their asthma, experiencing a positive peer environment, and being around good role models (many of the staff also have asthma), each camper is exposed to self-management skills that they can use long after camp is over to improve their quality of life.
